Omar ,  checking to see how Idaho is adjusting to the new life style.  Hope all is going well.  He should be ready to go to the field and show you his stuff and I would love to hear how it goes the good and the bad.  Just remember he is a pup and the first year is all about fun in the field.  Out of the field he needs to have manners so stick to it in the end it all pays off.  Dave.

P.S. Happy Thanksgiving.

Dave:

Sorry for not replying sooner.  Idaho is great.  He really is.  I could not have asked for a better dog.  I think I am starting to get a little kennel blindness even.  On the trip back home he and I bonded very well.  I have not started working yet so I spend a lot of time with him.  He goes everywhere with me.  I get so many compliments from hunters, dog people and regular folks.  I drove to Florida near Fort Walton Beach to visit my older brother in the Air Force stationed there.  I took Idaho with me.  We hunted in Ohio where my grandparents live.  A pheasant farm nearby had a couple of pens collapse from the snow and 3000 birds got loose.  I told the guy I would pay him for any birds I shot, and it was like scent overload for Idaho.  There were birds everywhere.  Not sure how good that was for him.  But as I moved away from the farm he pointed three birds real well.  In Florida I went hunting for quail with him and my brother.  We hunted about 3 hours and he worked real well.  I just don’t think there were any quail around.  On the way back I stopped in NC and my buddy and I hunted a preserve there.  He did better then I could have imagined and retrieved 8/9 birds.  I am attaching a picture of Idaho on point on a quail.  I hunted him once for ruffed grouse and he pointed one for me, I hunted him at a preserve yesterday with my buddies English Setter (picture attached).  They did real well.  Idaho honored real well.  I even got some video of it.  I shot at a pheasant that I was sure that I missed it flew up over top of a wooded area after I shot.  I went over there with Idaho (about 500 yds) and sure enough Idaho found the bird lying in a little stream went in and brought him to me.  I have been working on his retrieving and it is coming along well.  How do you use your fetch command and dead bird command?  Are they the same?  I am also sending you a picture of Idaho playing in 3 feet of fresh snow (this is buffalo).  You are welcome to use my name as a reference for anyone I think you did a wonderful job with Idaho, you are welcome to use any pictures too.  I am so thrilled.  He and I are real buddies.  I will give you a call sometime after the holidays I have a lot of questions for you on training and a couple of funny stories too.  I hope you and your family is healthy and safe, have a merry Christmas and a happy new year.  Here is my contact info.
